Kim's Mom This month had a rough start.  I was called down to listen to Joan's lungs because she was having some difficulty breathing and her O2 sats were low.  I couldn't hear any sounds hardly at all in her lungs, but she always breathes very shallow, so I didn't know if there was a problem or not.  She complained that she really didn't feel well.  Jody, Mickel, and David were just leaving for a long trip to Kansas, and Kim was at work, so Jan and I took her to the emergency room.  After several hours, they decided that she was too sick to stay at the local hospital and they transferred her to Ogden. Tasha brought her a very special puzzle.  It was a sugar cookie made into the shape of a jigsaw puzzle with a cardinal on the front.  Joan refused to eat it because she said it was too pretty! By this time Joan was seriously ill.  They ended up diagnosing her with pulmonary empyema, a condition where pus from infection builds up in the pleura...

Shandra has been living with only a concrete floor since her water heater went out and water has been leaking under the flooring.  When Kim and I were shopping for the flooring for our bathroom, we found some nice flooring that was on clearance and we bought it for Shandra's birthday.  We  (ok, Kim and Hayden) installed the floor over Memorial Day.  I had the very rough job of babysitting while Shandra helped the boys.  I know - it was a tough job, but someone had to watch the beautiful, little princess and her helpful, adorable brother.  Unfortunately, I failed to get any pictures of Shandra's new floor.  It looks wonderful!  She actually pulled out the carpet in the living room and had enough flooring to do both the kitchen and the living room. Peach Days was fun this year.  The California Olsens were here to join in the celebration.  Kalel was so cute!  Instead of spending all of his time gathering candy at th...

Ash and Mark just bought a trailer, it is called a Toy Hauler because the back opens, the beds raise to the ceiling, and you can park your "toys" (4 wheelers, etc) right inside the trailer.  Obviously they were excited to take it out for camping test drive.  They invited Kim and I and Kalel to stay with them in their trailer.  Robin and Cory and Corbin brought up their trailer also and Shandra, Jason, and Raelyn brought a tent and stayed in the same campsite with us.  We just went to the canyon in the mountains above our house, just about 7 miles away, but it felt like we were in a whole new world away from everything. Mark had pulled the trailer up the night before so Ash and I and the kids headed up there around noon on Friday to get the weekend started.  It was very nice, although very dirty.  The kids didn't mind the dirt at all! Later everyone else joined us except for Mark who came up the next day because he had to work.  We decided to have ...

Christmas + Christmas vacation

Christmas Eve brought our tradition of Christmas PJ;s.  Kim's ended up being extremely large for him, but he was a good sport and modeled them anyway!  Everyone else's were pretty plain and boring and fit well. Tasha and Zane picked out PJ's for Hector that were so funny and perfect for him, Olaf pants that said, "I like warm hugs!"  Hector seemed a little emotional when he told us that he had never received pajamas before.  Zane made sure that he understood the responsibility of wearing them Christmas morning!  Jason had to work so he didn't arrive until just in time to open PJ's.   I'm not sure why he looks so serious in this pic, he was smiling!  After Santa came -  Look at all the gifts! Christmas morning was a little different this year.  I worked the night before from 11 pm to 5 am Christmas morning.  Shandra worked from 6 am to 10 am and Jason had to work the entire day.  RaeLynn was with he...
