Spring is Coming!

I think that I am finally climbing out of the deep dark hole of depression and starting to feel the effects of the sun (as well as The Son) again.  Struggling with depression in the winter months is something that I deal with every year, but I'm pretty sure that this year was the worst I have ever experienced.  Not only was I depressed, but I also fought bouts of anxiety.  Needless to say, it was AWFUL!  I have felt the stirrings of peace and happiness now for the last 4 days and it is WONDERFUL!  It probably is not gone entirely, but at least I feel like I can handle it pretty much again. I have been extremely lax in writing the last couple of months, so here is a summary of my doings. First, and very most important, I’m going to be a grandma again!  Tasha took a pregnancy test on Christmas morning that was positive – what a great Christmas present!  She let Kim and I see the test but then she proceeded to forbid us from telling anyone for t...

Monday morning I headed to work full of trepidation, still in shock to think that Sally would no longer be our leader.  Sue and I talked for a long time about the ramifications, but of course since we didn't have any information all we could do was speculate.  Finally we got a message that we were to go to the Salt Lake Campus for a meeting with the CEO of the company.  Finally we would get some answers.  Since the meeting was scheduled for afternoon, we called Sally and asked her if she would like to meet Sue and I for lunch before the meeting. It was great to talk to her.  She truly is a good friend.  She let us know how much she enjoyed working with us and let us know that she expected to be included in many lunches in the future.  I just love that lady. After lunch we headed to the meeting, which was actually very good.  The CEO told us that he wanted to know what our questions and concerns were and just opened up the floor.  ...

We didn't know what else to do on Monday so we decided to draw names for Christmas and do a little Christmas shopping.  It was a good idea, but, although we had a good time, we really didn't find any great Christmas presents.  (Actually it was a good thing that we didn't because there was a mistake on the list and we had to re-draw names!)  We did have a great lunch at Noodles. We made our way to the Halloween store and had a great time with all of the fun props, decor and costumes.  Some of the things that are available now are just CRAZY.  There was a whole display of zombie babies that was just plain CREEPY. Ash and I bought some make-up so we could have fun with the Trick-or-Treaters. We each did our own make-up, and I found that I am NOT very good at it!  Also, there is something seriously wrong with my eyes - no matter how hard I tried my fake eyelashes just wouldn't go on right.  Instead of having a nice even curve they looked li...

Monday we had a great play day!  Tammy, Ash, Robin and I drove down to Ogden to do some shopping and girl bonding!  We had a ton of fun and found lots of great buys at Gordmans.  We stopped at Arby's for lunch, but I was disappointed to find that they no longer have their chicken salad sandwiches so I just got a regular Arby's sandwich.  My taste buds were very disappointed.  Later that evening Tammy, her daughter Kinsey, Ash and I headed to "The Old Barn" to see a play.  We stopped at JC's Country Diner and had dinner.  It was fabulous!  All but Kinsey got omelettes that were so tasty that we ate until our tummies felt like they would burst! I had never been to the Old Barn theater before but had heard good things about it.  The show we saw was "You Can't Take it With You".  It must have been an off night because there was only about 20 people in the audience.  The play was okay, but I'm not used to staying up very late and...

Kalel started school this week – 4 th grade!  He is growing up too fast!  Because his mother had to work,  Kalel, Raelynn, and I had a night-before-school slumber party.  Of course after playing some games, we had to have ice cream cones before bed! I just love those two little munchkins! Kalel's teacher this year is Mrs. Broersma.  She was born in Germany.  Kalel says that he really likes her.  I'm still having trouble believing that he is old enough to be in 4th grade.  I remember a very long time ago when I was in 4th grade - I thought I was so grown up!  And now Kalel is there. Shandra posted the following on her FaceBook page: This little monster told me he got kissed last year at school by his girlfriend. I said that's not okay! He said " look at me! Who could blame them " ..... I'm in trouble!!!!!! The next day she posted: "Don't worry, my 9 year old baby boy just told me ..in the first week of school .. a gi...
