Spring is Coming!

I think that I am finally climbing out of the deep dark hole of depression and starting to feel the effects of the sun (as well as The Son) again.  Struggling with depression in the winter months is something that I deal with every year, but I'm pretty sure that this year was the worst I have ever experienced.  Not only was I depressed, but I also fought bouts of anxiety.  Needless to say, it was AWFUL!  I have felt the stirrings of peace and happiness now for the last 4 days and it is WONDERFUL!  It probably is not gone entirely, but at least I feel like I can handle it pretty much again. I have been extremely lax in writing the last couple of months, so here is a summary of my doings. First, and very most important, I’m going to be a grandma again!  Tasha took a pregnancy test on Christmas morning that was positive – what a great Christmas present!  She let Kim and I see the test but then she proceeded to forbid us from telling anyone for t...

Snow, Snow, Snow

Image
This year we got a ton of snow (although the weather people say that we still don't have enough in the mountains to fill our reservoirs).  It snowed, and then the snow just stayed and stayed.  Usually here we get a snow storm and then it melts, but this year we had snow on the ground the entire winter. Bubba had lots of fun playing in the snow, he made a snowman and lots of snow angels. I'm not sure why he makes snow angels with his face in the snow.   The snow got so heavy that we started to have problems.   The awning over our deck started to collapse, so Kim braced it up.  The awning over Robin's parking lot collapsed damaging all three of her cars! Kim got nervous and shoveled the snow off our carport -  it was 2 1/2 feet deep.   The pile of snow next to my dad's driveway was over 7 feet high! It has been a snowy winter - and I think that I am ready for spring!

Snow Woes and Blows

Winter has hit with a vengeance this year!  Blizzard snow the day after Christmas, temperatures below zero, and another huge storm this weekend!  On Thursday night and Friday we got over 12" of snow!  And it was SLICK!  Thursday night Shandra got stuck twice on her way home from our house, the second time trying go get into her garage.  The next morning she got stuck when she dropped Bubba off at school, luckily there were some handy guys who pushed her up to the highway!  Then she got stuck in her parking lot trying to get into the garage again!  She called us and we raced down to her condo for the rescue.  On our way, we noticed that our neighbor's car was stuck in a huge pile of snow when she tried to get into her driveway, so we decided that once Shandra was free we would go back and help with our neighbor's car. As we were digging Shandra out, a big tractor with a plow just happened to show up.  The driver said that he normal...
