Thoughts From a Frazzled Mind

My sister, Ash, has accused me of working too much.  She is right, of course.  I do work to much - it is a good thing that I like my job!  Anyway, since we don't get to spend much time together we reserved Labor Day as "Audrey and Ashley spend the day together" and even put it on the calendar - in PEN! (ok, not really because my calendar is on the computer, but we made sure that spending the day together was a priority). After going back and forth on the many choices we could do for fun, we decided to take the boys, Shandra, and Dad to Toad's for some laser tag and arcade fun.  Shandra's friend, Mel, works there so she made sure that we were equipped with pizza, drinks, and plenty of good fun.  The pizza was surprisingly good!  I would go back there just for the pizza. As much as I am looking forward to having lots more grandchildren, it is also nice to only have one right now because we get to share so much with him (and probably spoil him a little too much!) This semester I get the opportunity to watch him every Wednesday evening while his mother is in class.  Many times it has turned out that he actually watches me since I am so exhausted and have to get up so early!  He has been wonderful to give me a blanket and put himself to bed when I fall asleep!  He is such a sweetie! Here he is as a detective!  He plays the part well!  Bubba's 8th birthday was a very fun day!  His mother was able to go to his school and share things about him for the last part of class.  Kim and I surprised him there with a bunch of balloons.  When we arrived at our house, he decided that he wanted to let all of the balloons go and watch them rise high into the sky.  The one Mylar balloon seemed a little slug...

Saturday afternoon was the annual Olsen Family Halloween party . (A special thanks goes out to Mickel for all the hard work she puts into this party!) We decorated pumpkins, bobbed for apples, and ate great food! There was a pumpkin hunt for the little kids and games for the bigger ones. We also had prizes for the best costume and best pumpkins ! This year Kim & I dressed up like (virtuous) Sandy and Danny from Grease . Doesn't Kim look fantastic in the "greaser" wig? We made Tasha a China Doll costume, complete with "made in China" label on the back. Quite a few people remarked that they didn't even recognize her! Isn't she adorable? Shandra spent so much time helping the rest of us look good that she didn't have time for much of a costume, so she just donned a wig and transformed into a blonde movie star . Since my two nephews, Tristan and Corbin, are so close in age to my Kalel, we have tried to make a tradition of taking pictures of them together at various times in their lives.
