Parrish Farewells

 We had several opportunities to bid farewell to the Parrishes before they actually left for Texas.  How grateful I am for these great friends!  We have been so very blessed to have them in our lives. Thank goodness for phones so we will be able to stay in touch!

Spring is Coming!

I think that I am finally climbing out of the deep dark hole of depression and starting to feel the effects of the sun (as well as The Son) again.  Struggling with depression in the winter months is something that I deal with every year, but I'm pretty sure that this year was the worst I have ever experienced.  Not only was I depressed, but I also fought bouts of anxiety.  Needless to say, it was AWFUL!  I have felt the stirrings of peace and happiness now for the last 4 days and it is WONDERFUL!  It probably is not gone entirely, but at least I feel like I can handle it pretty much again. I have been extremely lax in writing the last couple of months, so here is a summary of my doings. First, and very most important, I’m going to be a grandma again!  Tasha took a pregnancy test on Christmas morning that was positive – what a great Christmas present!  She let Kim and I see the test but then she proceeded to forbid us from telling anyone for t...

Catching Up

The irony of blogging is that when you have tons of time , there is usually nothing of note to write about. But, when there are many fun and exciting things to blog about, there is never enough time to blog! Here are some snippets of my frazzled (yet very pleasant) life lately. We have the most fun ward parties ! This year Kim and I proved ourselves as the Christmas Trivia Masters and were rewarded with Idle Isle chocolates. Singing Christmas carols is always a favorite activity of mine, and I was not disappointed this evening. Among other things, we sang the 12 Days of Christmas where each of us was instructed to stand and sing the verse corresponding to our birth month. It was extremely comical to see each group get into their parts! Kim was able to showcase his talents with “ 5 Golden Rings ” and of course Shandra and I helped him as back-up singers shouting, “ ba, ba, bum, bum ” in true Muppet fashion.
