I had the great privilege to attend the graduation ceremony of some of my favorite people! My first clinical experience was with some of the students of Eagle Gate College Cohort A6. I was the clinical instructor for many of their clinicals over two years. I got to know many of them quite well as I watched their nursing knowledge and confidence grow and bloom. Then this last year when I was hired as a classroom instructor I had the privilege of teaching them again in the classroom. They are all going to make fantastic nurses, in fact before graduation 8 of them already had secured nursing jobs, most of them at the University of Utah hospital.
Today Bubba and I had a great day! First we joined Ash and Tristan for a visit to the park. Bubba and Tristan ran and rolled and climbed and had all kinds of fun! Later, Kim and I had to run to Logan, so we decided that a quick trip to Willow Park was in order. Bubba was so excited to see all of the animals there. We saw turtles, geese, swans, cranes, peacocks, and deer. We watched an owl eating his dinner. We saw a couple of young antelope fighting - I think they were really just playing! We even saw a couple of wallabies! Of course, Bubba's favorite part was feeding the ducks! He got a little nervous if one got too close, but as long as they kept their distance, he had a blast throwing food to them. I'm sure that he just about wore himself out with all of the walking and running and playing. I know that I did!
Whew Whoo! "Diana Ross" and we "Supremes" performed brilliantly at our recent Stake Lip Sync. Okay, maybe we weren't quite brilliant - but at least we did it! We had anticipated a little more time to prepare and since several of the acts scheduled to perform before us neglected to show up, we were not exactly warmed up, stretched, and in sync as we would have liked to be. I have had several constructive criticisms requesting that I never dye my hair black. Karen and Janet were terrifically fun to do this with!
I have been doing some deep thinking the last few days and whenever I start thinking "deep" I am reminded of the many, many blessings that I have. Here is a partial list (in no particular order). * The gospel: I feel so very blessed to have the gospel of Jesus Christ in my life. I have been a member of the church all of my life, however it seems that I have only begun to appreciate what a blessing that is since I have gotten older. I feel such gratitude for a loving Heavenly Father who created a world with such amazing beauty and who provided a Savior for me so that I could live with Him again. How grateful I am for Jesus Christ who suffered great pains in my behalf so that I may be made clean from my sins and who understands every trial that I face in a way that no one else can. I'm so grateful for the Plan of Salvation that enables us to live together with our family, friends, and Heavenly Father after we are through with this life. * My family: We have such fun togeth...
