Monday my good friend and co-worker, Sue, was there. She was teaching the Pharm class for that day.  She asked me to team teach with her, not because she needed help but she said that she just wanted me to be with her!  She is so cute!  So, I attended the class with the goal to pick up fabulous teaching strategies that Sue uses.  She is a fantastic teacher and it was great to watch her teach.  She is so animated!  We had lunch together at the Training Table which is right next door to Eagle Gate.  What a fun time we had! That night Kalel and Rae joined me for another sleepover.  I declared that we were going to have a movie night so we all got PJ's on and climbed into my bed and watched "The Princess Bride".  Kalel declared that it was a great movie!  Even Rae liked it and quietly watched it until the end.  Score one for a fun grandma!  Of course it was an easy win because everyone knows how great that movie is! Kalel i...

Monday was my last day in San Diego.  Tasha was quite upset because she got called into work for a few hours because we had planned on spending the whole day together.  Through her tears she expressed some frustrations with her work, that she felt that she really wanted to get to know her clients, to help them with medical problems.  She stated that she knew people always felt good after she massaged them, but she felt that she wanted to do more than just relaxation massages.  She wanted to see her clients more than once and to really get to know them.  As she was talking I got a bit of inspiration and remarked that it sounded like what she really wanted to do was physical therapy.  It was as if a light bulb turned on inside her!  The tears stopped immediately and I could see the wheels turning as she started processing the thought of helping people through physical therapy. We decided to utilize information on the internet to explore options in th...

I remember thinking that my 6 th grade teacher, Mrs. Bodrero was the most wonderful lady on the planet.  She was pretty, she was smart, she was sweet, and she kept our class under control.  I think her example was one of the biggest reasons I thought about becoming a teacher.  Several times in my life when I have done something noteworthy she has sent me a congratulatory note.  It means a ton to me.   Lunch ~  What do you think the most ultimate gift of the world is? ...

What a crazy, busy, fun, emotional week!  It seemed like I was working at warp speed trying to accomplish everything that needed to get done during the first part of the week so that I could fly to California the second part of the week.  Of course, as often happens when in a hurry EVERYTHING seems to need attention immediately which makes you feel even more behind.  Thank goodness Kim is not working this week, he is recovering from his surgery, but he feels good enough to be a terrific babysitter, chauffeur, as well as counselor for all the females in his family. Wednesday I ended up with two meetings at work, one for the Civility Committee I am on and also a faculty meeting to work on the accreditation process. Preparing for accreditation is a monumental process and requires hours and hours of work.  I feel very fortunate that there are some incredibly smart people doing most of the work and that I get to ride on their coattails.   I was accidentally d...
