September Challenge Day #9— Record something that happened in the last week.

We caught the first tarantula of the season.  We often see a tarantula or two each fall, everyone in our neighborhood does.  Apparently we are on the migration path for the furry little buggers.  Kim for some strange reason likes them.  He almost always catches them in a mason jar and keeps them on the piano until he can find a science teacher to give them to.  This year he couldn't find one, so he just decided to let it go - in our back yard - but not until he played with it for awhile!  After playing with it for quite awhile, he begged, cajoled, coerced, and bullied me, trying to get me to hold it.  I'm not sure what came over me!  I had total lapse in common sense, for all of the sudden my arm had a mind of its own and slowly my hand moved until it was next to Kim's hand - THE ONE WITH THE TARANTULA.   Ever so slowly it inched its way from Kim's hand to mine.  Kim kept saying, "isn't it soft?"  And I kept sa...

September Challenge Day #8--What numbers best represent you?

Image
Does this question even make sense?   What numbers represent me?   Well I could say:   120/80 because that is my blood pressure (now that I am on medication) 125 because the is the weight I feel that I should be (and still think I am – I get startled every time I look in the mirror and wonder who that pudgy, old lady is!) 3 because that is how many children we have 12,000,000 because that is how much money I want to win in the lottery (of course that probably won’t happen because I never buy lottery tickets!) 529-xxx-xxx because that is the number the government thinks is me 31 because that is how many years I have been married to my man 7 because that is the number I always choose when choosing a number between 1 and 10 I just think this is silly question.  I am NOT a number.  I am a person, a human being, a Child of God.  I have a name.  I am NOT just a number that represents one of the masses of humanity....

September Challenge Day #7--If you could write a letter and send it to yourself when you were younger, what would you say?

Dear Me,       Even though you are not popular in the high school sense, you have always enjoyed life and had tons of fun with friends.  Keep up the good work!  Your friends will always be there to encourage you, to laugh with you, to listen, and to lean on.  Never take your friends for granted.  Even though the faces and names of your friends may change over time they will always and forever remain a huge part of your life.       Learn how to budget and spend your money wisely.  Debt is a hungry monster that never seems to get satisfied.  Learn to save for important things, and delay gratification.  Sometimes the anticipation of getting something is even better than the actual possession.       Stick with a college and get your degree no matter how hard it is or how long it takes.  Once you have a degree it is yours forever!  Even if you don’t use your degree...
