What do you want to eat?  I hate that question because I really don’t like to eat many things.  Yes, I eat a LOT!  But not a huge variety.  I have been told by many people that I am the world’s pickiest eater, and I’m pretty sure that they are right.  So, when people ask me what I want to eat, I am fairly certain that they won’t like my answer. Lunch ~  If you could change one thing about yourself what would it be? How can I decide only one thing?  If I had to choose just one it would probably be to...

The 2016 Olympics started this week.   I love the Olympics.   It may because it is because I feel a sense of patriotism in joining with the rest of the nation in cheering on the USA team.   I’m in such awe of athletes who work so hard to earn the honor of receiving an Olympic medal.   I’m also so impressed with the athletes that give everything they have just for the honor of competing when they know that they have little to no chance of winning.   I love hearing the stories of the athletes, where they come from as well as the struggles they have faced.   The funny thing is that any other time I am not at all interested in the sports or of the athletes.   It must have something to do with the whole Olympic hype.   Whatever the reason, I find myself glued to the television and computer during the Olympics.   My favorite events in the summer Olympics are volleyball, both indoor as well as beach, gymnastics, and diving.   I al...

I had a very interesting and quite spiritual experience this week.  A good friend of mine has had a very difficult decision to make.  She had two choices, both were good choices and either would lead her to a good, happy life, although each path would be quite different from each other thus the destinations would end up totally different.  She had been worrying and stressing over these decisions for weeks.  She has been so stressed that she has not been able to sleep, her stomach has been in constant knots. My friend is a very spiritual person.  She is not of my faith and she does not feel the need for organized religion, but she prays frequently and feels that she has a good relationship with God and Jesus Christ.  She and her husband have been praying fervently for help in making the decision that would be best for her and her family.  When she and I were talking I asked her what she was specifically praying for, I wondered if she was just asking G...

There is always milk in my fridge – if there isn’t I go into panic mode.  In my pantry there is always cream of mushroom soup. Lunch ~ What is one dinner you remember most from you childhood and why? One of the most vivid memories of a dinner is one where my mother made liver.  Now, I HATE liver!  The flavor is awful and the texture is worse!  I remember sitting there trying to figure out a way to get out of eating it when my mother got up from the table to go in the other room for something.  All of the sudden my dad (who ALWA...

Happy Pioneer Day! Lately I have been thinking a lot about my ancestors who were pioneers, those early members of the Church who literally sacrificed all they had so that I could be raised in a place where being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is not only easy but pretty much common place.  A place where all are free to worship in peace with little if no harassment. Today several members of our ward reported on the recent "trek" they went on.  It was a stake activity where all of the youth were arranged into "families" with adult "Ma's & Pa's" at the head.  They reenacted a portion of the pioneer trek from Missouri to Utah - of course the stake only traveled 30 miles in 4 days instead of over 1,000 miles in 3-4 months. The reports were all great, but a couple of them really touched me.  I honestly can't remember their words, but I was overcome with emotion as they talked of working together, helping e...

Food  4  Thought   Friday! A little feast without the calories!!   Please visit  Jodi's blog!   She posts these for us.   Feel free to play along for some yummy fun! She will post a new one each Thursday night.   JOIN IN!!!   Food 4 Thought Friday ~ This week's questions:  ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Breakfast ~ If you could choose an age to remain forever, which age would you choose?  I liked being 30.  I was still in good shape, played a lot of ball, and had tons of energy.  I was starting to actually feel smarter than a teenager but yet young enough to still act like one sometimes. Lunch ~ What do you enjoy doing to relieve stress? Unfortunately, my stress relieving techniques involve eating unhealthy things.  When I am really stressed I immediately grab a Dr. Pepper and something chocolate.  I love getting massages when I am stressed, but that doesn’t happe...

This week was fairly uneventful, just a good week.  I did have a fun morning on Tuesday.  I had scheduled to visit with one of my students before class.  Right before she arrived another one of my students showed up to turn in some work that she thought she had turned in previously but found at her house.  I guess she wanted to bribe me to not mark the work late so she brought me a Dr. Pepper.  I had to laugh because my adiction is so well known and everyone knows that I am frustrated because the school vending machines don't stock it any more .  I thanked her and then went into my office with the other student.  When the second student saw the Dr. Pepper in my hand she got a huge smile on her face and reached into her backpack and brought out two more DPs for me!  We got a great laugh out of that! Unfortunately I drank one before I remembered to take a picture! Thursday my co-instructor/friend, Sue, and my boss/friend, Sally, went to lunch...
