My least favorite  is actually putting up the decorations.  I LOVE having them up, but actually decorating drives me crazy.  And I don’t like trying to figure out where to put the stuff I take down to put up Christmas. Lunch ~  What one thing would make Christmas just not Christmas for you? To no...

Serious lack of photos this week!  I'm really slacking! It is December!  Wow!  That came fast!  Christmas will be here before we know it.  Tasha and Zane will be here, I can't wait to see them, it has been too long. This week was pretty uneventful.  Work was good - my boss, Sally asked me if I would teach the Maternal/Newborn/Pediatric class in Murray next semester.  Of course I jumped at the chance.  Maternal/Newborn is my passion and I can't wait to teach it!  Of course I am not thrilled to have to drive to Murray each Monday, but Sally offered to let me stay at her house each Sunday evening (which is only minutes away from the campus) so that I won't have to get up early and fight the traffic.  I think that I may just take her up on that!  Now to start working on lesson plans! Friday night was the anniversary of Tyson Wilding's passing therefore it was "Chocolate Dessert Day".  I made the dessert and Kim and I took it ...

However, if I have planned for something and then a change happens that I’m not prepared for, I am a very unhappy camper.  I guess the answer is that I like change when I am the one to initiate it! Lunch ~  What is one thing you would like to change about yourself  in each category: *Physically *Emotionally *Spiritually *Mentally ...

I have been looking forward to this week for a long time.  Kim and I both had some vacation time so we both took off the whole week.  One whole week!  A whole week to spend with Kim (who I don't see nearly enough) and to get some much needed projects done, and to put up our Christmas decorations.  Well . . . the best laid plans.  I should have known better.  I spent most of the week in bed with the stomach flu - YUCK! Consequently my list of things to accomplish was scratched.  I tried to make the most of my down time by laying in bed watching sappy Christmas movies on the Hallmark channel.  My first choice would definitely have been to get projects accomplished, but watching Christmas movies was GREAT!  I LOVE watching Christmas movies - I think it probably has to do with the fact that I love happy endings - and I got to indulge in watching a LOT of movies.  The very best part?  Kim laid in bed and snuggled and watched several wi...

Monday:  No Pictures Our Monday Magnificent Ladies' Day turned out to be a fabulous potato and dessert bar.  Ash, Robin, Tammy, and Marilyn all came.  Ashley insisted that we meet at her house so that she could get fashion advice on what she should wear for her upcoming family photos.  The food was marvelous (and inexpensive - bonus!), and the company even better.  I am not looking forward to the time when I won't be able to spend every Monday with my favorite people. My students had the opportunity this week to teach hygiene and basic first aid to the clients at LINC (Life-Skills and Individual Needs Center).  It was fabulous!  The students did a phenomenal job interacting with the clients.  I was so proud of them!  The clients were in a bit of an upheaval because there was some remodeling construction going on and they had to move to another place.  Some of the clients were a little confused and agitated at the change and my student...

One the hardest things for me about growing older is the fact that my eyes have betrayed me.  My eyes were perfect most of my life, but one day I woke up realizing that I was spending a lot of time with my arm tromboning  in order to try to bring small print into focus.  Each year my eyes get a little worse until reading without glass became impossible.  Now I notice that I am straining to read even with my glasses so I decided it was finally time to visit my friendly eye doctor.  When I arrived, I was pleasantly surprised to see that my eye doctor was in fact my backyard neighbor!  His family recently moved into our neighborhood but I didn't recognize him as the eye doctor that I had seen a few years ago.  Whew - I'm sure glad that I have only said nice things about him!  He confirmed the need for stronger bifocals - Dang!  Soon I was trying on new eyeglass styles and picked out a new pair.  They are a little bolder than I usually ch...

Dinner ~  Do you vote straight party or cross party lines? I tend to favor one party, but have no hesitation to going outside the party if I feel strongly about a candidate. Midnight Snack ~   Was there a particular issue on ...
