Blog Challenge #19: Your biggest regret in life

Image
Your biggest regret in life I think that my biggest regret is that I didn’t appreciate my time with BJ before he was gone.  As a kid who had ADHD and was bipolar it was very easy to get frustrated with him.  It wasn't until he was gone that I started looking back and realizing how truly Christ-like and nonjudgmental he was.  Everyone he met was immediately his new “best friend” and he seriously meant it.  I look forward to the day when I can put my arms around him again and let him know how much I love him.

Blog Challenge #18: A book you could read over and over again and never get sick of

A book you could read over and over again and never get sick of This one is easy!  Almost every book I read is on this list.  I have the fortunate (some would say unfortunate) ability to forget what happens at the end of the book.  Thus I can read the same book several times and still be surprised by the ending! Some of my favorite authors (in no particular order): Josi Kilpack Anita Stanfield Dean Hughes Rachel Nunes J.K. Rowling Gerald Lund Cherie Crane And many, many more!

Blog Challenge #17 - Your highs and lows of this past year

#17:  Your highs and lows of this past year High:  Obviously the greatest high of this past year was graduating from nursing school and getting a job working in Labor and Delivery. Low:  Realizing how much I don’t know about nursing.  It literally takes years to feel comfortable as a nurse. High:  Tasha’s husband, Zane, graduated from Southern Utah University and found a great job that he loves Low:  Zane took Tasha to San Diego to live – so far away! High:  Family vacation to San Diego and Disneyland – it was a PERFECT trip! Low:  NONE! High:  Travelling this summer:  California, Boise for the Carving Jamboree, Bear Lake for my birthday, back to San Diego to visit Low:  Travelling this summer because I feel like I will never catch up on all the things that need to be done at home High:  The opening of the Brigham City Temple Low:  I don’t get to go as often as I would like because I am so busy There are many more and I could go on and on . . . but I

Blog Challenge #16 - Your views on mainstream music

#16:  Your views on mainstream music What does mainstream music mean?  I like most music, and I have playing most of the time.  I don’t like heavy metal or head-banging music and I’m not a real fan of most jazz.  I do not like vulgar, explicit, or suggestive music.  I do like most anything with a good beat be it from the 20’s, 30’s, 40’s, 50’s, 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, 90’s or current.  And I like music that I can sing to (obviously) even if I don’t sing the right words.

Right Place at the Right Time

I had an interesting experience this evening.  Shandra and I were watching Bubba's swimming lessons.  About 20 minutes before the end of class an adorable little boy walked by us.  As he walked by I noticed that he was still young enough to wear a swim diaper.  We were sitting at the shallow on the deck at end of the pool.  He walked around the corner of the pool and when he got to the 3 1/2 feet deep area, he reached into a basket and pulled out a colored ring.  Each of the teachers use these rings as part of their classes.  So, this cute little boy, grabbed a ring from the basket and sat down, and then he slid into the water. Unfortunately, the water was over his head.  I looked around to see if any of the teachers in the pool had seen him, but they were all focused on their classes and were turned away from where the boy was.  I soon realized that no one except Shandra and I had seen the boy get into the water.  So I jumped up and ran to the side of the pool, reached in, and p

Blog Challenge #15 Write - 15 interesting facts about yourself

Write 15 interesting facts about yourself (OH DANG, I JUST RE-READ THE INSTRUCTIONS - IT SAID "INTERESTING" FACTS.  OH WELL!   1.        I have ‘Word Salad’.  That is a condition where I substitute one word for a totally different word that is usually unrelated (see the sidebar “Audrey’s latest”  for examples)    2.        I learned to ride a motorcycle when I was quite young.  Before I had my driver’s license I would push my bike several blocks to the mountains with my friend, Jody, and we would ride all over.  My parents insisted that when I got my license I had to get a motorcycle license too.    3.        I graduated from nursing school at 53, and I’m still going to school.    4.        I knew that I was going to marry my husband the first time that I met him.    5.        I love scrapbooking (although I haven’t done much since I started school).  I have volumes and volumes that are completed.  I love to go back and remember all of the great times I have ha

Blog Challenge #14: Your earliest memory

Your earliest memory I believe that my earliest memory is of a time when I was about 5 years old.  We lived in a mobile home in a trailer park, and there were several  kids my age.  I remember playing with my friends in a nearby park.  There was a type of a merry-go-round that kids would ride with someone pushing it to go around and a around.   I got soooooo sick on that ride that I started crying and then I threw up!  I remember feeling so embarrassed that I thought that I would die! To this day I can’t ride anything that spins without getting sick.

Blog Challenge #13 - Somewhere you’d like to move or visit

#13:  Somewhere you’d like to move or visit Since I dislike winter so much, I have always dreamed of moving somewhere tropical.  Warm climate, beautiful beaches, lots of sunshine.  Hawaii or the Cayman Islands would be perfect!   I have always loved San Diego!  The weather there is always perfect and there is so much greenery and beautiful flowers.  Now that Tasha has moved there, I am even more tempted to move there.   The only thing I don’t like about San Diego is that it is part of California which means that traffic is HORRIBLE!  I’m not sure that I could handle the traffic on a day-to-day basis. Kim and I have always dreamed of visiting Australia – not for any specific reason, we just think that it would be a great place to visit.
