Fun in San Diego

Tasha and Audrey July 2013 After a LONG night's drive (thank you so much for staying awake and talking to me all night, Marilyn!) we finally reached Taina's house in Chino.  We all stumbled into the house, dropped into couches,  and fell asleep for a couple of hours before heading to San Diego.  We didn't tell Tasha that we were on our way, so it was a great surprise when we arrived. We quickly got into our bathing suits and headed out for a refreshing swim in the pool. Marilyn and Maddie model their modest swim wear. The pool was perfect!  Nice and refreshing after the long drive.   Me and Maddie with Tasha's turtle named " Shelly Greeny Tasha" It received that name from Zane's niece and nephew. Maddie sporting an "Oompa-Loompa" hairstyle Maddie and I trying to dunk each other Later that afternoon we took a trip down to Old Town to visit the Mormon Battalion Historic Site.  Marilyn and I went there sev

Blog Challenge #9 - If you could have any job in the world, what would it be

If you could have any job in the world, what would it be                 At this point I am dreaming of becoming a nursing instructor.   I am working very hard toward that goal.  Is it going to be the perfect job – probably not.  But I think that it will be gratifying to see the faces of the students as they grasp difficult concepts and overcome stressful situations.

Blog Challenge #8 - A moment when you felt most satisfied with your life

Day 8:  A moment when you felt most satisfied with your life                 Tough question!  I don’t know that I can pinpoint a time when I felt most satisfied,  Perhaps I felt the most sense of accomplishment when I graduated from nursing school last year.  Me and Sally, our Program Administrator   I worked very hard (and I felt oh so very old) and to know that I could succeed at something that was so difficult was nothing short of amazing.

Blog Challenge #7 Your favorite childhood toys

Image
Your favorite childhood toys                 This question is difficult because I am so old that I can’t remember much of my childhood!  I do remember that I loved books.    I would read and read and read.  Occasionally I would send my friends home so that I could read!  And yes, I was one of those who hid under the covers with a flashlight to read late into the night!                   I had lots of Barbies, but didn’t so much play with them as much just dress them up and then redress them and style the hair.  I even tried sewing some clothes for them.              My favorite thing as a child, and it still applies now as an adult, is playing games.   I love playing games, board games, card games, dice games, you name it!  I remember that for about four years straight I would get together with my next door neighbors and play Canasta every day during summer vacation.
