August Challenge Day 3: Your idea of the perfect date

Image
My perfect date would be one in which my date already had plans made and didn't ask my opinion on every detail.  Don’t get me wrong, I have lots of opinions and don’t mind giving them, but every once in a while – for the perfect date – I would love to not have to make any decisions at all. Having said that, I can’t really describe the perfect date, because I don’t know what it is.   It could be a fancy dinner and dancing.  It could be hamburgers and mini-golf.   It could be hobo dinners cooked on a campfire in the canyon.   It could be a walk while holding hands along the beach.  It could even be watching a movie while sharing popcorn and Dr. Pepper.   Any of those would be perfect – as long as I am with my man – AND he made all of the decisions.

August Challenge Day 2: Your middle name and how you feel about it

Image
I don’t have a middle name and I have always hated that fact!  I feel that people who have middle names have a choice of which name they would like to use!   And – obviously I never knew if my mom got REALLY mad because she couldn't use three full names when yelling at me!

August Challenge Day 1: Your favorite song

Image
My all time favorite song is a hymn:  “ I Stand All Amazed” I love this song because it expresses exactly how I feel.  I feel so amazed that Jesus Christ would descend from his home in heaven to suffer, to die, and to atone for me .  I am amazed of the love that He feels for each of us.  That He came into this world to make it possible for each of us to be resurrected and to live with Him and our Heavenly Father.  This song feels very personal to me, that even though He did these things for all of us – He would have done them all for me alone , if that is what was required.  I stand all amazed at the love Jesus offers me, Confused at the grace that so fully he proffers me.   I tremble to know that for me he was crucified,   That for me, a sinner, he suffered, he bled and died. (Chorus) Oh, it is wonderful that he should care for me   Enough to die for me!   Oh, it is wonderful, wonderful to me!   I marvel that he would descend from his throne divine To rescue

Blog Challenge #30: Your goals for the next 30 days.

Blog Challenge #29: List 10 people, dead or alive, you would invite to dinner. Include dinner menu.

I started working on a list of people that I would like to invite to dinner but had a hard time keeping the list to 10 people.  That is when I realized that if I was going to have a large dinner party I might as well make it a huge affair and invite ALL of my good friends and family members, all of the people I love to spend time with.  Of course, if I have a party of this magnitude , I would need to have my Alice  decide the menu and help me get things ready.  I certainly can't handle it on my own!

Blog challenge #28: Something that you miss

Obviously I miss BJ and now I miss Tasha since she moved to California.   I miss my great friends from my old job.   I miss my mom and Kim’s dad.   ·                 However, I think I am going to write about another less tangible topic – my youth, and more specifically the energy, flexibility, and the thin body I had in my youth.  I miss dancing for hours without feeling like I would like to pass out.  I miss hopping out of bed in the morning without stretching every body part first to make sure that it hasn't stiffened to the point that it won’t move without pain.  I miss reading in bed without the aid of glasses.  I miss buying skinny clothes and not worrying about horizontal stripes making me look fat.  I miss playing sports like softball and volleyball for hours on end.  I miss being young and carefree and never taking pills!

A Quick Trip to Bob and Kate's with Dad

My dad was SO excited for the plane ride!  He didn’t like the crowds, security, or wandering through the maze of the airport, but by the time we got on the plane he was ready for the adventure.  As we descended into the Spokane airport we hit some turbulence.  I asked him how he was doing, and he said, “Oh that was FUN” with a huge grin on his face! We met Bob and Kate, picked up luggage and then headed toward their home.  We were quite suprised to see that Bob's beard is just as . . . um. . . fascinating as dad's!   They live just outside Spirit Lake near Coeur D’Alene.  On the way we stopped at a great place in Ruthdrum called O’Malley’s for dinner. The anticipation to see Bob and Kate was warranted!  It was so great to visit with them!  It doesn’t matter how long it has been since we visited last, it always feels like home when we are with them! They house they built is absolutely gorgeous.  I am in awe of their decision to leave urban California and r
