August Challenge Day 10: A photo of your favorite place to eat

Image
I LOVE Tony's ribs!  Unfortunately there is no longer any Tony's within 500 miles.  Good thing that there is still a Tony's in San Diego so we can go when we visit Tasha and Zane! I will never forget the time we took BJ to Tony Roma's for his 18th birthday.  Of course the entire serving staff brought him a dessert and sang to him.  They sang, "This is your birthday song, it won't be very long. See ya!"  and then walked off!  It was so funny!

August Challenge Day 9: A photo of the item you last purchased

Image
The last thing I purchased was a notebook.   I bought matching ones for my sister and I.  They are to be used to write down positive things in our lives and things we are grateful for.  I think that a lot of the time our lives get crazy busy and we don’t take time to notice all of the positive things in our lives.  Sometimes it takes discipline to make ourselves stop and take notice.  Life has a tendency to get overwhelming sometimes.  I know that when I get overwhelmed I get stressed, depressed, and just want to crawl in a hole.  When I am feeling like that, I honestly cannot seem to think of ONE positive thing in my life.  All I see is dark and despair.  If I go to my notebook where I can see tangible evidence of the good in my life it is tons easier to pull myself out of those dark, depressing times. August Challenge #8: Talk about your piercings or tattoos, if you have any

Image
This is going to be a boring topic.  I don’t have any tattoos, although I have had several henna tattoos, mostly when I go on vacation to tropical places. Unfortunately, I don't seem to have any pictures of my henna tattoos.  My darling husband felt sorry for me, so he drew a couple of tattoos for me. Are't they just adorable?   As for piercings, I have the standard one hole in each earlobe.  I did have a second piercing once, but they have long since grown over.

August Challenge Day 7: A photo of an animal you’d love to keep as a pet

Image
Pretty much the only pet that I could handle is a figurine of a moose, or maybe even two. They would just sit there, looking quite handsome, not causing any trouble, and NEVER pooping!  Talk about the perfect pet! I know that many people enjoy having real pets that move and everything, but right now a pet just seems to me to be a lot of work - and I HATE cleaning up animal poop!

August Blog Challenge Day 6: A song to match your mood

It seems as though all of the people I love right now are struggling with things that are difficult to handle.  I understand that feeling really well.  One of the things that I cling to when I feel the world is caving in on top of me is the hope that there is a light at the end of the tunnel and that I just need to hold on to that light.  This song perfectly describes the feelings that I would like to convey to everyone who is dealing with tough things right now. Hold On Words and Music by Michael McLean The message of this moment is so clear; And as certain as the rising of the sun. If your world is filled with darkness doubt and fear, Just hold on, Hold on; the light will come. Ev'ryone who's ever tried and failed Stands much taller when the victory's won. And those who've been in darkness for a while Kneel much longer when the light has come. It's a lesson ev'ry one of us must learn; That the answers never come without a fight. And w

August Blog Challenge Day 5: What makes you different from everyone else?

I don’t think that I like this question much, I mean obviously I am different from everyone else due my DNA as well as the spirit I was born with, but I’m assuming a more detailed or specific answer is in order. As I ponder this question everything that I come up with prompts a “well so-and-so does that too” thought, so I am drawing an absolute blank.   Therefore, the only answer I have to this question is this:  I am different from everyone else because I am me!

August Blog Challenge Day 4: Your favorite photograph of your best friend

Image
Which best friend shall I post a photo of? The one I call almost every day just to talk, especially while I am driving or doing dishes? The one who gives me wise advice and spiritual support?   The one who makes me laugh until tears run down my face? The one who helps me solve all of the world’s problems in 30 minutes or less? The one who is more like my sister than a friend? The one who just “gets” me?   The one that I am actually related to? The one who I like to support as she achieves success? The one that I am married to? The one that makes my school work bearable? I am blessed to have SO many best friends!
