September Challenge Day #21--When did someone help you out unexpectedly? How has that changed how you do certain things or your outlook?

There are SO many people who have helped me – many more than I could ever list.  Friends that drop me a note or give a small gift when I am down.  Friends that cleaned my house when I was not able to.  Friends that brought in meals when I was sick or in need.  Friends who donated financially.  Friends who just give me so much love and support. Because of the great service that I have been given and the example shown to me I try to be more willing to give of my time and service to others.  I’m far from perfect at noticing and acknowledging people who need help, but it is a trait that I am trying to develop.  In the General Relief Society Meeting last Saturday a couple of the talks focused on keeping our covenants by bearing one another’s burdens and mourning with those who morn.  Also, we were reminded that we covenanted at baptism to be willing to serve the Lord by serving others – every day of our lives.  By doing that, the Lord has covenanted to always have His spirit with us

September Challenge Day #20--What are 5 (or 10) things you have a hard time saying “yes” to, and what are 5 (or 10) things you have a hard time saying “no” to?

This challenge has been very difficult for me to write and I have stewed over it for several days.  I was able to come up with a few of the things I have a hard time saying "yes" and "no" to, but could not complete all five.  Finally I just decided to post what I have and leave it at that. Things I have a hard time saying "yes" to:    Cleaning my house.  Yes, I LOVE having a clean house, but actually doing the work is something I have a very hard time saying "yes" to!  So many times there are so many other things that steal my focus and I am distracted from the messes.  Also, both my husband and I tend to hoard things.  This makes it extremely difficult to put everything away it its place, because there isn't a place available!  Since there isn't a perfect place to put it, I can't decide what to do, so I panic and ignore it!   Exercising and Eating Healthy.   Actually, I don't mind exercise, and I love feeling like

September Challenge Day #19--How has technology changed since you were younger?

Image
Technology has changed so much during my lifetime!  I remember sitting in my 5th grade class and my teacher, Mrs. Freeman, was reading us a book after lunch.  I don't remember what the title of the book was, but I do remember that it was about a "future" time in which every home had a computer and people would no longer use money, they would just swipe a card to buy things.  I remember thinking how crazy that was because at the time computers were so big that one computer took up a whole room.  Private citizens did not own computers, only big, big businesses did.   Data was entered by punching holes in cards And you had to learn to speak a different language like COBALT or FORTRAN to work on computers. Telephones were always connected to the wall and had a rotary dial.  Princess phones came out when I was a kid.  They were the coolest things ever! Televisions were black and white when I was very little, with a rotary dial, and there was no such things as remot
