October 2020

General Conference was held virtually again in October due to Covid.  I really enjoyed the talks.  It is always so special to hear our dear prophet, Russel M. Nelson, and other apostles speak.  I'm looking forward to reading the talks again. Our stake is finally allowing us to start going back to church every week, still with many restrictions.  We have to sit 2 rows apart, everyone has to wear masks, and the sacrament service is held after the main meeting because it is not broadcast.  They are still broadcasting the main meeting for those who can't or don't feel comfortable returning to the church.  We have also started having relief society, priesthood, and Sunday School meetings again, but those are still virtual.  It is so great to return to the chapel!  I love seeing all of the faces (at least their eyes since they are wearing masks).   A while ago, we sisters talked about our cousin Bob, who lived with us as a teen and has been an...

San Diego Part 4: LegoLand and USS Midway

Image
Tristan was SO excited to go to LegoLand!  Since we had gone last year and didn't want to go again. Ashley and Mark graciously took Kalel so that he and Tristan could go together.  They had a really fun time riding the boat ride and seeing all of the many incredible things build from Legos. The boys built Lego cars and won trophies! And they both practiced their driving skills on the Lego driving course And they saw some cool Lego Star Wars characters and machines And rode on a boat roller coaster I think that they all had a great time! The Braeggers along with Kim and Kalel drove down  to tour the USS Midway Mueseum.  Mark's father was a Navy man, so they had a fun time learning about the life he had while out to see. The even got to experience flight simulators!  They said that it was one of the most interesting places they visited in San Diego!  According to the website, the USS ...

San Diego - Part 3 - San Diego Zoo

Lions and tigers and bears . . oh my!  And elephants and giraffes and snakes and tortoises and pandas and hippos and the list goes on and on! We rode the bus around the zoo when we first arrived so that we could get a feel for the lay-out.  I think that it was a good idea because San Diego Zoo is HUGE!  Kalel has been studying maps in school so he and Tristan were in charge of where to go.  We saw funny seals poking their heads out of the ice  We saw some statues that were "HOT"!  We saw a rhino's lower lip act just like fingers to pick up food (it was a little creepy!)  Kalel touched a real (fake) rattlesnake  We rode a tram across the zoo (but I won't admit that I was paralyzed with fear the entire time)  We learned that Ash is master story teller.  She started a story just as the tram took off and related the story the entire ride without even catching a breath!  She said she does that to distrac...
