Oh, the fun, sunny days!  I just love summertime, wearing shorts and sandals, the kids loving warm weather and playing outside, darkness waiting until 9:00 to appear, perfect! Mont and Kiaya I was a work and got this picture text from Mont.  When I saw it, I was very confused.  I knew that the Parrishes were going to be in Utah/Idaho to celebrate his parents 50th anniversary, but I couldn't figure out how in the world Mont found Kiaya because Shandra was at work.  It took a long time but I finally remembered that Kiaya was at Lisa's house, her babysitter.  Lisa and her husband Brent are very good friends of the Parrishes family and when Mont stopped by to see them, I guess Kiaya ran right up to him.  He said it made him very happy! Joan's Treatment Last year Joan was diagnosed with chronic lymphocytic leukemia.  The treatment usually involves a waiting/maintenance time with little to no treatment unless the patient sta...

Week in Review July10, 2016

Our Independence Day was very low-key this year.  We packed up our campsite and arrived home before noon.  My car was filthy so I hurried and washed it.  I haven't washed a car by hand for years, it was actually quite enjoyable  tolerable.  And it felt good to get all of that dirt off of it.  I then headed right for the shower and then literally fell in bed for a good long nap.  Kim stayed and helped Mark take and dump the trailer.  I told Ash to call me when she was ready to clean it and I would help.  She didn't call and I fell asleep.  I guess she didn't wait for me and cleaned it herself and then she fell into a coma-like sleep - 4 1/2 hour nap!  Robin said that she did the same thing.  Camping is hard on people! After naps Kim and I just were lazy all the rest of the day.  Sitting in the cool, air conditioned house felt so good that we absolutely did nothing constructive.  Kim watched some tv (his favorite s...

July 4th Fun

Image
Our fun neighbors, Steve and Tammy, invited all of the neighbors to a July 4th breakfast!  We had tons of yummy food and got to visit with our fun neighbors that for some reason we don't spend much time with.  What a great idea!  I hope we make this an annual tradition! After the fun breakfast, we packed up all our gear, picked up dad, and headed to Rox's house for a family day.  The kids had a great time playing in the water, sliding on the Slippin' slide, and wading in the pool.  Perfect activities for the 98 degree weather!  Aimee and JoCee are the perfect babysitters - we hardly even saw the kids all day long! All of the old folks  adults sat on the deck in the shade.  We talked and laughed while we decorated our t-shirts, getting them ready to tie-dye. Shelley and Tom Walker joined us for the fun, their two girls had a great time hanging around with Aimee, decorating their shirts, and decorating flip-flops.    Here we are...

Canyon Fun

Image
We are so fortunate to live so close to a place where we can get away from it all! We celebrated the July 4th holiday on Monday, July 5. We headed up to the canyon for a great day of hiking, playing games, and of course hobo dinners and S'mores! I just LOVE the relaxing atmosphere up there. Tia's friend, Zane, came up with us, and Bubba decided that he was his new best friend!
