Wicked

Fun, fun, fun - and did I say fun - weekend!  Friday night I went down to Cyn's to play games with her family and her cousin, Ranae (I met Ranae at Island Park a couple of years ago).  Playing games with Cyn pretty much is at the top of my list of favorite things to do!  I spent the night there and then we left early the next morning to pick up Tasha from the airport.
After getting Tasha, and meeting up with Brynanne, we headed to the new Salt Lake Mall, City Creek.  It is a very pretty, outdoor mall with a creek running right through it!  Happy day for Cyn and me - we found this wonderful game store!  We each chose a game to take back to the hotel to play. 
Shandra met us at the hotel and we played our new fun games (Anomia and Furt) until it was time to get ready to get ready and eat dinner before the show.

We got all beautified and headed to 

for dinner.  It was YUMMY!  And we each got some cheesecake for after the show!


  While we were waiting for a table, we decided to take some fun pictures since we were all looking so gorgeous!

 After dinner we made our way to the Capitol Theater for the main event:
Wicked is such a popular show that we bought our tickets 14 months ago!  And it was well worth the wait!  It is such a fun musical, and the talent was phenomenal!  We had a fabulous time!

After the play, we went back to the hotel and played games for a few more hours and enjoyed our cheesecake.  Thanks girls for such a fabulous weekend!

As I think back over the summer, I realize that I have had the opportunity to see several shows:  Hello Dolly, The Hanging of El Bandito (twice), Aladdin, and now Wicked.  I tried to see Hairspray, but we got rained out.  What a wonderful summer!  I LOVE going to plays.

Memories:  These vintage pictures surfaced this month.  I just love looking at old pictures remembering how things were - especially when the pictures are of loved ones who are no longer with us.  I love seeing Grandpa and Grandma surrounded by family.  They loved being with family!  This made me smile. Fun Day With Bubba

Today Bubba and I had a great day! First we joined Ash and Tristan for a visit to the park. Bubba and Tristan ran and rolled and climbed and had all kinds of fun! Later, Kim and I had to run to Logan, so we decided that a quick trip to Willow Park was in order. Bubba was so excited to see all of the animals there. We saw turtles, geese, swans, cranes, peacocks, and deer. We watched an owl eating his dinner. We saw a couple of young antelope fighting - I think they were really just playing! We even saw a couple of wallabies! Of course, Bubba's favorite part was feeding the ducks! He got a little nervous if one got too close, but as long as they kept their distance, he had a blast throwing food to them. I'm sure that he just about wore himself out with all of the walking and running and playing. I know that I did!

Mom is Coming Home

We just got word today that mom can come home from Rehab tomorrow morning – a week earlier than we had expected. Needless to say, mom is thrilled at the prospects of being home again, and dad is quite excited also. I have to admit, I have mixed feelings. Honestly, it has been very nice having mom in a place where I knew that they were taking very good care of her. The food there is fantastic, the workers are extremely pleasant and friendly, and her care was wonderful. She has gained an incredible amount of muscle strength through her two-a-day physical therapy sessions, and they are fanatical about making sure that her food and fluids are exactly what she needs. Consequently mom is actually in better overall health now than she has been in the last two years. It has been nice for me to have them watching over her continuously to make sure that she does what she is supposed to and also to make sure that she doesn’t cheat on her diet or fluid restrictions.
