Bar J Wranglers

Our family is great fans of the Bar J Wranglers. We have seen them perform many times in Jackson during the summer months. And we have caught them a few times as they travel during the winter. We own almost all of their CDs and DVDs. We love their incredible harmonies, their beautiful songs of the old west, the steel guitar, and especially their humor. We love the fact that they perform a family show that is enjoyable to all ages.


A couple of years ago, when we had many, many trips to doctors appointments and hospitals, I loaned my mom and dad a couple of the Bar J CDs to listen to on the long car rides. As I suspected, they fell in love with the music. I knew that my parents would never be able to make the trip up to Jackson to see them, so when I saw a poster advertising a local concert, I jumped at the chance to take them.


The Wranglers were fantastic, as always! Their easy-going bantering is so fun, and I love to hear them sing. But my favorite part is how friendly and personal they are. After the show all of the Wranglers lined up to sign autographs, answer questions, and take pictures. My mom couldn't believe how nice they are!
This picture is with Donnie. He plays steel guitar, regular guitar, as well as mandolin. In fact they joke that he can play anything with strings!!!

It was a wonderful evening. I'm so glad that my mom and dad are healthy enough to attend!

We love them too! Where was this held at? THey are the most down to earth guys on the planet! I am glad you got to take your parents! That is awesome!

Memories:  These vintage pictures surfaced this month.  I just love looking at old pictures remembering how things were - especially when the pictures are of loved ones who are no longer with us.  I love seeing Grandpa and Grandma surrounded by family.  They loved being with family!  This made me smile. Fun Day With Bubba

Today Bubba and I had a great day! First we joined Ash and Tristan for a visit to the park. Bubba and Tristan ran and rolled and climbed and had all kinds of fun! Later, Kim and I had to run to Logan, so we decided that a quick trip to Willow Park was in order. Bubba was so excited to see all of the animals there. We saw turtles, geese, swans, cranes, peacocks, and deer. We watched an owl eating his dinner. We saw a couple of young antelope fighting - I think they were really just playing! We even saw a couple of wallabies! Of course, Bubba's favorite part was feeding the ducks! He got a little nervous if one got too close, but as long as they kept their distance, he had a blast throwing food to them. I'm sure that he just about wore himself out with all of the walking and running and playing. I know that I did!

Mom is Coming Home

We just got word today that mom can come home from Rehab tomorrow morning – a week earlier than we had expected. Needless to say, mom is thrilled at the prospects of being home again, and dad is quite excited also. I have to admit, I have mixed feelings. Honestly, it has been very nice having mom in a place where I knew that they were taking very good care of her. The food there is fantastic, the workers are extremely pleasant and friendly, and her care was wonderful. She has gained an incredible amount of muscle strength through her two-a-day physical therapy sessions, and they are fanatical about making sure that her food and fluids are exactly what she needs. Consequently mom is actually in better overall health now than she has been in the last two years. It has been nice for me to have them watching over her continuously to make sure that she does what she is supposed to and also to make sure that she doesn’t cheat on her diet or fluid restrictions.
