My Date

My sweet hubby is usually terrific at getting me gifts. He has a knack for picking out things (even clothing) that I always like. (I know, I am EXTREMELY fortunate in that regard! - a fact I do NOT take for granted!) However, this year for my birthday, he just didn't have any ideas, so he asked me what I would like. I couldn't come up with any ideas either, so I just asked him to plan a fun date for me. He took the challenge and started planning. We couldn't go on the very day of my birthday because of prior commitments, so he made plans to go this week.

I had NO idea what he had planned! He first took me to Sizzler for dinner. Perfect choice! I love the steaks, and he loves the salad bar! It was delicious. After dinner, we took a quick trip to Home Depo - his favorite part of the date, I'm sure!!!!

After the Home Depo, we started driving west, I couldn't imagine where we were headed until I saw Toad's. Cool! We were going miniature golfing!!!!!! How fun! It has been YEARS since I have been miniature golfing! It was so much fun! And there were TONS of places for photo ops (my personal favorite).

We had a BLAST!!!!! We both had forgotten how much fun mini-golfing is. The suspense was intense as Kim tallied up the score! It was a very close match, but Kim won by one point! I guess that is fair since he did such a great job of planning our date!
I am so grateful to be married to such a terrific, fun guy! He always makes me laugh, he treats me with respect and like I am somebody special, and he is always so supportive of me in all my endeavors! Thanks for a fantastic date, honey!

Memories:  These vintage pictures surfaced this month.  I just love looking at old pictures remembering how things were - especially when the pictures are of loved ones who are no longer with us.  I love seeing Grandpa and Grandma surrounded by family.  They loved being with family!  This made me smile. Fun Day With Bubba

Today Bubba and I had a great day! First we joined Ash and Tristan for a visit to the park. Bubba and Tristan ran and rolled and climbed and had all kinds of fun! Later, Kim and I had to run to Logan, so we decided that a quick trip to Willow Park was in order. Bubba was so excited to see all of the animals there. We saw turtles, geese, swans, cranes, peacocks, and deer. We watched an owl eating his dinner. We saw a couple of young antelope fighting - I think they were really just playing! We even saw a couple of wallabies! Of course, Bubba's favorite part was feeding the ducks! He got a little nervous if one got too close, but as long as they kept their distance, he had a blast throwing food to them. I'm sure that he just about wore himself out with all of the walking and running and playing. I know that I did!

Mom is Coming Home

We just got word today that mom can come home from Rehab tomorrow morning – a week earlier than we had expected. Needless to say, mom is thrilled at the prospects of being home again, and dad is quite excited also. I have to admit, I have mixed feelings. Honestly, it has been very nice having mom in a place where I knew that they were taking very good care of her. The food there is fantastic, the workers are extremely pleasant and friendly, and her care was wonderful. She has gained an incredible amount of muscle strength through her two-a-day physical therapy sessions, and they are fanatical about making sure that her food and fluids are exactly what she needs. Consequently mom is actually in better overall health now than she has been in the last two years. It has been nice for me to have them watching over her continuously to make sure that she does what she is supposed to and also to make sure that she doesn’t cheat on her diet or fluid restrictions.
