A Perfectly Wonderful Wedding

My Baby is Married!
I'm not sure how to feel about this!  When did she grow up and get old enough to be married?  I remember Tasha as a cute little cuddle bug who would climb into bed with me every morning to snuggle and watch “Blue’s Clues”.  She and I loved to read stories together, each taking turns reading a page.  Tasha was the little sister that BJ and Shandra alternated between loving and tormenting.  She has always had a heart of gold and felt like it was her job to make everybody happy.
But now my baby is all grown up and ready to start her own new life with Zane.  I am very, very happy for the two of them, but yet a piece of me wants to grab hold of the cute little girl of the past and hang on tight!

Tasha’s new sister-in-law, Christy, threw a bachelorette party in Salt Lake at the

Tasha said that it was one of the most fun nights she has ever had!

The week prior to the wedding was a jumble of activity with all of the last-minute items that needed to be completed.  Emotions ran high, and even some tears were spilt in anticipation of the big day.  Consequently Shandra and I decided that a diversion was in order so we took off to Ogden to get pedicures (Shandra didn’t get a pedicure, she bought boots instead!)

It was PERFECT!  As our feet were being pampered, our backs were being massaged by the massage chair.  UMMMMMM, can we say heaven?

D-day was a day of running - mostly to Shopko - my life. my style. my store.  We ended up going to Shopko 7 different times for last minute items that we needed!  Finally we headed to the church where Zane's family and bestman, Hector,  presented family and friends a fantastic buffet of Mexican food along with one of my new favorite drinks, horchata.
After the YUMMY dinner, it was time for the final preparations.  Shandra is a master at doing hair, so she took over creating an incredibly beautiful hairdo for the bride, complete with birdcage veil.  Cyn and I helped her into her dress (including several inconspicuous pins) while everyone got dressed.  I honestly have to say that it was certainly worth the effort!  Everyone looked WONDERFUL!  And Tasha was absolutely gorgeous!
Tasha and Zane were married at The Cottage Reception Center by President Bob Davis.  It was a beautiful ceremony.  They walked in to the theme music from A Princess Bride, "A Storybook Love".

About half-way through President Davis' words, little flower-girl, Halsey, decided that she wanted to be part of the ceremony and joined Tasha & Zane in the front.  Everyone was trying to get her to sit down, but she wouldn't have it.  Finally Zane clasped her hand and had her stand by him, then at the end, before the big kiss, he picked her up, hugged her, and then sent her back to her seat.  (Tasha says that it was the perfect thing to help her remember to have fun and not to cry at her wedding!)

The proud parents!
I LOVE this picture!
It was a beautiful day, the weather was perfect, the bride and bridemaids were all gorgeous,  the food was wonderful, the dancing was fun, and best of all, we gained a new son!  Welcome to the family, Zane.
