A Willy Wonka Date

Last night my cute little Bubba and I went on a date to the Heritage Theatre to see
Two of the cast members live in our ward, Adam and Brooklyn Wheatley - they did a fabulous job!  Brooklyn was an Oompa Loopa and everytime she was on stage, Bubba pointed her out to me - Look!  There is Brooklyn!  over and over again!  


We sat on the 2nd row, so we had great seats to see everything that was happening on stage!

As part of the promotion, the theater was selling candy bars - 5 of them contained a golden ticket, just like in Willy Wonka.  The winners of the tickets get a tour of the Idle Isle candy factory and a pound of their favorite chocolates.  We bought two candy bars, anxious to see if we would find a golden ticket!

 Darn!  No golden ticket for us (although there was a winner in the audience), just yummy candy.!

We had so much fun on our date!  I love that Bubba enjoys going to plays with me!  I hope that he never grows out of it!

Memories:  These vintage pictures surfaced this month.  I just love looking at old pictures remembering how things were - especially when the pictures are of loved ones who are no longer with us.  I love seeing Grandpa and Grandma surrounded by family.  They loved being with family!  This made me smile. Fun Day With Bubba

Today Bubba and I had a great day! First we joined Ash and Tristan for a visit to the park. Bubba and Tristan ran and rolled and climbed and had all kinds of fun! Later, Kim and I had to run to Logan, so we decided that a quick trip to Willow Park was in order. Bubba was so excited to see all of the animals there. We saw turtles, geese, swans, cranes, peacocks, and deer. We watched an owl eating his dinner. We saw a couple of young antelope fighting - I think they were really just playing! We even saw a couple of wallabies! Of course, Bubba's favorite part was feeding the ducks! He got a little nervous if one got too close, but as long as they kept their distance, he had a blast throwing food to them. I'm sure that he just about wore himself out with all of the walking and running and playing. I know that I did!

Mom is Coming Home

We just got word today that mom can come home from Rehab tomorrow morning – a week earlier than we had expected. Needless to say, mom is thrilled at the prospects of being home again, and dad is quite excited also. I have to admit, I have mixed feelings. Honestly, it has been very nice having mom in a place where I knew that they were taking very good care of her. The food there is fantastic, the workers are extremely pleasant and friendly, and her care was wonderful. She has gained an incredible amount of muscle strength through her two-a-day physical therapy sessions, and they are fanatical about making sure that her food and fluids are exactly what she needs. Consequently mom is actually in better overall health now than she has been in the last two years. It has been nice for me to have them watching over her continuously to make sure that she does what she is supposed to and also to make sure that she doesn’t cheat on her diet or fluid restrictions.
