Brigham City Temple #2

With the Labor Day holiday, the crowds of people coming to see the Brigham City Temple during the open house have gotten larger and larger!  Labor Day the lines wound clear around the temple and along Main Street!
On Friday (before the big crowds came) I was able to work at the temple as the "counter".  It was a fairly slow day, and yet I still counted an average of 1,000 - 1,200 people an hour!  I heard rumor that a week ago the Saturday count was 33,000 in 13 hours.  WOW!
I absolutely LOVE working at the temple during this open house.  It kind of makes me feel like I am taking a little bit of "ownership" in the temple - like it is "my" temple.  I love feeling like I am helping to further in the Lord's work.  I am so excited to be able to start attending the temple after it is dedicated!

Saturday we were able to go with Tasha & Zane and Mark & Ashley on another tour.  It was so fun to "share" this special building with them.

Once again, Bubba is imitating the Angel Moroni!

Kalel went with us again, and he was a perfect little gentlemen the entire time.  He reminded us several times that we could not laugh or talk loudly while in the temple because it is Jesus' house.
I am so amazed at the amount of detail that has been put into this temple to make it so beautiful!  I just LOVE it!  How blessed I feel to be a part of this incredible building.  Each main entrance into the temple has the words, " Holiness to the Lord—The House of the Lord " carved into the stone reminding us of the sacred nature of the building and that all who enter must be holy, and also to remind us that it is literally the Lord's house.

I found these quotes that I love:

"At the temple the dust of distraction seems to settle out, the fog and the haze seem to lift, and we can 'see' things that we were not able to see before and find a way through our troubles that we had not previously known."—Boyd K. Packer

"Yea, and my presence shall be there, for I will come into it, and all the pure in heart that shall come into it shall see God."—D&C 97:16

"When you come to the temple you will love your family with a deeper love than you have ever felt before. The temple is about families."—Richard H. Winkel

"For behold, I have accepted this house, and my name shall be here; and I will manifest myself to my people in mercy in this house." —D&C 110:7

"Each holy temple stands as a symbol of our membership in the Church, as a sign of our faith in life after death, and as a sacred step toward eternal glory for us and our families."
—Russell M. Nelson
"Temples are places of personal revelation. When I have been weighed down by a problem or a difficulty, I have gone to the House of the Lord with a prayer in my heart for answers. The answers have come in clear and unmistakable ways."  Ezra Taft Benson

"I know your lives are busy. I know that you have much to do. But I make you a promise that if you will go to the house of the Lord, you will be blessed; life will be better for you."  —Gordon B. Hinckley

"Everything that occurs in the temple is uplifting and ennobling. It speaks of life here and life beyond the grave. It speaks of the importance of the individual as a child of God. It speaks of the importance of the family and the eternity of the marriage relationship." —Gordon B. Hinckley

"I promise you that, with increased attendance in the temples of our God, you shall receive increased personal revelation to bless your life as you bless those who have died." —Ezra Taft Benson
