Annual Waffle Breakfast

For many years the staff from the Brigham City Women's Center (aka Dr. Dibble's office) have gathered together one morning in December for a grand waffle party.  Most of the staff are no longer working there but we wanted to get together anyway and planned to go to Burt's Cafe for our waffles.  Unfortunately it turned out that only a few of us were able to attend.


Jalyn, Marilyn, and I have always been ready, willing, and able for a good time, good food, and time to strengthen our bonds of friendship, so we jumped at the chance for our waffle breakfast.

I just love these ladies!  They are truly two of my very best friends and I cherish our time together.  I still get to see Marilyn quite often since we live just down the street from each other (YEA!), but I rarely get to spend time with Jalyn, and I miss her desperately!  We have been through so many struggles and good times together.  We leaned on each other's shoulders during hard or sad times, and we rejoiced together in happy times.  I knew all about each of her family members, their successes and trials, and she knew all about my family.  We supported each other, laughed together, worked hard together, and became sisters in many ways.  I miss her.  

How grateful I am for great friends!

Memories:  These vintage pictures surfaced this month.  I just love looking at old pictures remembering how things were - especially when the pictures are of loved ones who are no longer with us.  I love seeing Grandpa and Grandma surrounded by family.  They loved being with family!  This made me smile. Fun Day With Bubba

Today Bubba and I had a great day! First we joined Ash and Tristan for a visit to the park. Bubba and Tristan ran and rolled and climbed and had all kinds of fun! Later, Kim and I had to run to Logan, so we decided that a quick trip to Willow Park was in order. Bubba was so excited to see all of the animals there. We saw turtles, geese, swans, cranes, peacocks, and deer. We watched an owl eating his dinner. We saw a couple of young antelope fighting - I think they were really just playing! We even saw a couple of wallabies! Of course, Bubba's favorite part was feeding the ducks! He got a little nervous if one got too close, but as long as they kept their distance, he had a blast throwing food to them. I'm sure that he just about wore himself out with all of the walking and running and playing. I know that I did!

Mom is Coming Home

We just got word today that mom can come home from Rehab tomorrow morning – a week earlier than we had expected. Needless to say, mom is thrilled at the prospects of being home again, and dad is quite excited also. I have to admit, I have mixed feelings. Honestly, it has been very nice having mom in a place where I knew that they were taking very good care of her. The food there is fantastic, the workers are extremely pleasant and friendly, and her care was wonderful. She has gained an incredible amount of muscle strength through her two-a-day physical therapy sessions, and they are fanatical about making sure that her food and fluids are exactly what she needs. Consequently mom is actually in better overall health now than she has been in the last two years. It has been nice for me to have them watching over her continuously to make sure that she does what she is supposed to and also to make sure that she doesn’t cheat on her diet or fluid restrictions.
