Lunch ~ What are you wearing right now?  What are you thinking right now? What are you eating/drinking right now (if anything)?   I still have my pajamas on, one of the very few times I am not dressed and ready to go b...

Last Sunday was the Superbowl.  I'm not really sure why but for some reason I really enjoy watching the Superbowl game.  This year it was the Denver Broncos vs the Carolina Panthers.  For many years Kim and I have attended super fun SuperBowl parties with friends, but this year Kim had to work and I made plans to celebrate and enjoy the game alone.  But Kim had other plans, he decided to go into work late and watch the game with me.  It was one of the best games we have watched for a long time.  The Panthers were favored to win, but the Broncos ended up as victors.  It was fun watching the game with Kim. This week Kalel was named Athlete of the Month at the Peak!  He got to share pictures and stories of his athletic life. Kim's mother was discharged from the hospital this week.  She isn't quite strong enough to go home so she was admitted to a rehab facility that is just minutes from where I am doing my clinicals so I stopped by t...

JOIN IN!!!   Food 4 Thought Friday ~ This week's questions: Breakfast ~ What have you loved the most about this past week?  I have loved spending some much needed time with my sweetie this week!  I do love that man! Lunch ~ Briefly tell how you met your "love". I was working at Pizza Hut, he came in with a mutual friend, Brian, to invite me to attend a Young Adult dance that weekend.  We had a tradition of hugging all of the Young Adults, so as part of the invitation each of them gave me a big hug.  I told them I would only go to the dance if one of them would pick me up, stay with me the entire night, and bring me home so I wouldn’t ha...

Monday I taught Sally's pharmacology class because she was attending her brother's funeral.  I was happy to help and luckily it was a topic I had already taught so preparation wasn't bad.  I taught about medications used to treat protozoal and helminthic infestations (parasites and worms).  It gross to think about parasites and worms and of course I made it worse by showing lots of pictures and videos.  We watched a surgery of a 3-year old boy in a third-world country where they removed hundred and hundreds of live, squiggly wormS from his intestine.  It was DISGUSTING!  But the students loved it - that's how we nurses are. Tuesday I started with this semester's clinical rotation.  I get to be with the students at Pineview Rehab which is a wonderful facility.  I'm very impressed with the staff there and feel fortunate that my students have an opportunity to be there.  I will spend every Tuesday and Thursday for the next 6 weeks at Pineview....

JOIN IN!!!   Food 4 Thought Friday ~ This week's questions: ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥       Breakfast ~   If you could have personally witnessed anything in history, what would it have been? I think I would have loved to witness the teachings of Christ first hand, to have actually seen Him and felt the prints in His hands after His resurrection. Lunch ~   If you could be any age for a week, what age would that be?   35 seems like an age I would want to repeat for a week.  I was still young enough to have tons of energy but old enough to have some experiences behind my belt. Dinner ~   What habit are you trying to break?  What habit are you trying to...

This week started off nice and calm, in fact I was beginning to wonder if I would even have anything noteworthy to write about.  I shouldn't have wondered, for the week ended with a BANG - literally! Kalel participated in his first Pinewood Derby this week.  Grandpa Bob (aka Kim) helped him design and cut out the car.  Kalel did all of the painting himself It was a very sharp looking car!  Tuesday night Kim stayed home from work to get the car weighed and to watch the Derby.  Kalel's car wasn't the fastest, but it competed well. It was a fun night for all.  It was especially fun because Kalel and Tristan had a chance to race their cars against each other.  Tristan's car was a little faster. I rushed from the Derby to go to choir practice with the Symphonic Choir.  Happy news!  Jalyn decided to join the choir with me!  It will be so fun to have her there with me.  I always feel out of my c...
