Fun at Bear Lake

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!

I am so lucky!  I got to spend my birthday with great friends at beautiful Bear Lake.  Mont and Marilyn joined us for a YUMMY dinner at Cafe Sabor.

 Of course no one could keep and secret, so the staff brought out this awesome fried ice cream for dessert.

 The view from our condo was AMAZING!


  The next morning Kim and Mont left to go home so they could go back to work and Tammy and Kinsey came up.  While we were waiting for them to arrive, Marilyn and I hit the pool.  It was PERFECT!  What a great way to relax!

Then that night we had the great opportunity to go to Pickleville to see El Bandito in his latest production:  El Bandito Rides Again.  Once again we were amazed by the humor and the talent of the T.J. Davis and his Pickleville crew.

 The next day we spent just relaxin' and eating, LeBeau's shakes were wonderful as usual, and gave ourselves manicures and pedicures.


 And playing games
 And more relaxing!

 Marilyn took my care and headed home on Friday, but the rest of us stayed until Sunday.  Saturday night we decided to head back down to Pickleville for a showing of Seven Brides for Seven Brothers.  It was just as fantastic as we hoped it would be.  Great amounts of talent!

 After the show we stopped and had a great visit Harper and Janis at their cabin.


What a FANTASTIC mini-vacation!

Memories:  These vintage pictures surfaced this month.  I just love looking at old pictures remembering how things were - especially when the pictures are of loved ones who are no longer with us.  I love seeing Grandpa and Grandma surrounded by family.  They loved being with family!  This made me smile. Fun Day With Bubba

Today Bubba and I had a great day! First we joined Ash and Tristan for a visit to the park. Bubba and Tristan ran and rolled and climbed and had all kinds of fun! Later, Kim and I had to run to Logan, so we decided that a quick trip to Willow Park was in order. Bubba was so excited to see all of the animals there. We saw turtles, geese, swans, cranes, peacocks, and deer. We watched an owl eating his dinner. We saw a couple of young antelope fighting - I think they were really just playing! We even saw a couple of wallabies! Of course, Bubba's favorite part was feeding the ducks! He got a little nervous if one got too close, but as long as they kept their distance, he had a blast throwing food to them. I'm sure that he just about wore himself out with all of the walking and running and playing. I know that I did!

Mom is Coming Home

We just got word today that mom can come home from Rehab tomorrow morning – a week earlier than we had expected. Needless to say, mom is thrilled at the prospects of being home again, and dad is quite excited also. I have to admit, I have mixed feelings. Honestly, it has been very nice having mom in a place where I knew that they were taking very good care of her. The food there is fantastic, the workers are extremely pleasant and friendly, and her care was wonderful. She has gained an incredible amount of muscle strength through her two-a-day physical therapy sessions, and they are fanatical about making sure that her food and fluids are exactly what she needs. Consequently mom is actually in better overall health now than she has been in the last two years. It has been nice for me to have them watching over her continuously to make sure that she does what she is supposed to and also to make sure that she doesn’t cheat on her diet or fluid restrictions.
