Women's Conference

I always look forward to going to BYU to attend Women's Conference and this year definitely did no disappoint!  Wednesday at noon Karen, Deanna, Marilyn and I headed south for this year's escapade.
The new Payson temple open house corresponded with Women's Conference so we decided to start off our adventure by attending the open house.
The temple is absolutely beautiful!  It is decorated with apple blossoms everywhere.  What a great way to start off Women's Conference!

We were planning to spend the rest of the evening in the hot tub at the hotel, but unfortunately the hot tub was broken

Luckily for us Jalyn and her friend Martha (along with Lynne and Debbie) invited us to pajama ice cream sundae night!

Martha, Lynne, and Jalyn had us rolling with laughter as they shared antics from their days in serving in the Young Women's organization.  Who would have thought that these fine women could be such pranksters!

The conference speakers were all fabulous, as usual.  It is amazing to me how they find speakers that are so wonderful.  There is great spiritual power in sitting among 15,000 women all striving to improve their lives as they listen to teachers, missionaries, mothers and even prophets who bear witness to the gospel of Jesus Christ and who instruct us how to improve our relationship with the Savior.

My favorite part of the conference is sharing the experiences with good friends.

The Thursday night concert is always a ton of fun.  This picture show how we were all getting ready to "ROCK AND ROLL"

We spent some quality time (and money) in the BYU bookstore where we got to meet and get signed prints from several talented painters.  Last year I bought a framed print from one of my favorite artists, David Bowman.

This year he was here again with a fantastic set of original books about Book of Mormon heroes.  I just had to get them!  David was kind enough to personalize them for Kalel and then pose for a couple of pictures with me.  One the highlights of the conference!

We look forward to the service night every year.  It is absolutely incredible how much is accomplished in one night!  This year we helped make stick ponies for underprivileged kids.

I so look forward to Women's Conference each year - it recharges my spiritual batteries and strengthens bonds with good friends - both old and new.
