Monday morning Tammy, Ashley, Robin and I decided to go to breakfast instead of lunch, so we headed to J&D's.  I had a waffle with strawberries and whipped cream.  It was really good! For some reason, I forgot to take pictures. When I got home I was pleasantly surprised to see that my front lawn was covered with turkeys and they were busily chomping away on the millions of box elder bugs that reside at my house! I was so glad to see them because autumn always brings an infestation of box elder bugs.  It doesn't seem to matter how much we spray, swat, and vacuum the darn things, they are still EVERYWHERE!  I noticed a drastic reduction after the turkeys' visit - but within a couple of hours the pesky bugs were back!  It seems to be worse on sunny days because they seem to like the warmth of the south side of the house. For some reason this week I have been feeling very nostalgic so I spent a lot of time watching home movies.  I have a real love-h...

Lunch ~  What do you listen to while driving? I listen to audiobooks.  I would prefer to listen to LDS novels, but they aren’t easy to find so I listen to Christian novels because there is no sex or language.  Last year I listened to a whole slew of Amish novels that were fabulous. When I start getting tired I put on music from musicals becau...

This week started off with a killer headache - not very fun!  It actually woke me up from sleep and lasted most of the morning.  Fortunately my sisters still wanted me to hang out with them (okay, they pretty much forced me, but I'm still glad)  We decided to get breakfast at McDonalds and then we planned to visit the consignment shop, but it was closed.  We found this alley that was great for pictures, so of course we had to pause for a photo op. Since I wasn't feeling up to laughing and getting rowdy, we decided to just sit quietly and play some board games.  I was happy - I love playing games. Fortunately I started feeling better because I had signed up to clean the temple in the afternoon.  I have never done it before and really didn't know what to expect.  It was SUCH a great experience.  My job was to dust all of the baseboards and door jams on the first floor and also to sanitize every surface that hands could have touched on th...

Lunch ~  What is your most memorable Halloween? Al I don't think one stands out more than the others.  They have all been fun!   Dinner ~  What are your Halloween traditions? Monday we had a great play day!  Tammy, Ash, Robin and I drove down to Ogden to do some shopping and girl bonding!  We had a ton of fun and found lots of great buys at Gordmans.  We stopped at Arby's for lunch, but I was disappointed to find that they no longer have their chicken salad sandwiches so I just got a regular Arby's sandwich.  My taste buds were very disappointed.  Later that evening Tammy, her daughter Kinsey, Ash and I headed to "The Old Barn" to see a play.  We stopped at JC's Country Diner and had dinner.  It was fabulous!  All but Kinsey got omelettes that were so tasty that we ate until our tummies felt like they would burst! I had never been to the Old Barn theater before but had heard good things about it.  The show we saw was "You Can't Take it With You".  It must have been an off night because there was only about 20 people in the audience.  The play was okay, but I'm not used to staying up very late and...

Kim and I used to go absolutely NUTS at Christmas and started collecting just about anything that had to do with Christmas.  We collected Christmas stockings, Christmas nutcrackers, Christmas snow globes, and even Christmas mugs.  We still have most of them but unfortunately they mostly stay boxed up in storage.  Lunch ~ Do you dejunk on a regular basis or have a system for getting rid of clutter? I dejunk on a regular basis, every 25 years whether we need it or not!  Honestly I am absolutely HORRIBLE at dejunking and my wonderful husband is even worse, so it rar...
