Fun in San Diego

Tasha and Audrey July 2013
After a LONG night's drive (thank you so much for staying awake and talking to me all night, Marilyn!) we finally reached Taina's house in Chino.  We all stumbled into the house, dropped into couches,  and fell asleep for a couple of hours before heading to San Diego.  We didn't tell Tasha that we were on our way, so it was a great surprise when we arrived.
We quickly got into our bathing suits and headed out for a refreshing swim in the pool.

Marilyn and Maddie model their modest swim wear.

The pool was perfect!  Nice and refreshing after the long drive.

It received that name from Zane's niece and nephew.

Later that afternoon we took a trip down to Old Town to visit the Mormon Battalion Historic Site.  Marilyn and I went there several years ago and thoroughly enjoyed it.  It has now been updated and is a totally interactive experience that is very enjoyable.

Gold!  We found Gold!

After the Battalion Zane met us and we had an enjoyable time window shopping in the Old Town Market.  There were so many fun and unique things to see!

After walking around the market for awhile we all realized that we were dead-tired and since Marilyn and Maddie had a long drive back to Corona we decided to call it a day.

The next day Tasha and I went for a very long walk and then went SHOPPING!

We saw a store whose name perfectly describes my Kim-Bob!
Zane's sister had an aquaintance who had recently moved and gotten new furniture, he said that Zane and Tasha could have the furniture FREE if they could get a truck and move it.  Well, FREE is a great price so we rented a truck from Home Depot
and drove up to Temecula and picked up a recliner sofa, two nice, comfortable chairs, a bookcase and a small bench.  We were very nervous about getting the truck back before closing, so we dumped the furniture off on the sidewalk at Tasha's apartment complex and left her to guard it while Zane and I returned the truck.

Tasha, Zane, and I flexed all of our muscles to haul all of the HEAVY furniture up the two flights of stairs to their apartment.  (Needless to say, I was saying some semi-bad words in my head as we were struggling to go up the stairs!)  We only had one mishap when I fell off the side of the stairs, dropped the couch, and landed in the shrubbery after slamming my head against the railing and hitting my . . . sit-down area. . . on the corner of the cement stair.
We finally made it (with a little help from the neighbor on the last load).  The apartment quickly went from very bare to very full! It is very nice, good quality furniture and they are so lucky to have it!

Of course, the best thing after a good work out - and every day - is a trip to the hot tub.

The final adventure in San Diego was trying out Tasha's scooter!  For some reason Tasha didn't know that I am no stranger to riding bikes.  I'm pretty sure she is proud of her motorcycle-mamma!
I think her scooter is going to be a great way to get around their subdivision!

It was so wonderful to spend some time with Tasha and Zane in their new city.  It was hard to leave - but it was much easier since we already have our tickets to return in September!  And I have to say, flying home was much more pleasant than driving down!
