San Diego - Part 5: Sea World

Sea World - one of my very favorite places in the world to visit.  I love the shows, the aquatic life, the "touch and feel" centers, and the rides.  And now, after this trip, I discovered that I love the food!

When we bought our tickets we discovered that we could get an all day dining pass for a good price.  And throughout the day we tried to eat enough to get our money's worth!  I'm sure that we all gained about 10 pounds in that one day!  But it was worth it.

Our favorite place to eat was at Cafe 64 where they make the most incredible hamburgers!  There was one burger called the Bacon & Bacon - you guessed it, it was smothered in bacon.  My favorite was the 64 burger, a hamburger smothered in pulled pork and then covered with coleslaw.  It was truly amazing!

While we were eating we had a bird start stalking our food.

It didn't help that Ashley decided to try and feed it!

It stayed with us throughout our entire meal, just staring at us and our food.  It was a little creepy!
Early in the morning we literally saw a parade of flamingos!  They were being herded down to the street to a public viewing area.  Who knew that flamingos could be herded?

One of the very best parts of the day occurred just because we happened to be at the right place at the right time.  Our group was asked to help feel the stingrays!

Even the adults got into the action, picking up little fish from a bucket and holding it into the water until a ray took it right out of our hands!  It was very cool!

The guys really liked the SHARK tunnel

And Tasha was almost giddy with delight while visiting the penguins and the puffins

Ashley and I liked the shows ....
The dolphins

And the sea lions

This is Ashley and I enjoying the show!
And of course we all LOVED the Shamu show - especially since we sat in the splash zone.
 AND WE GOT WET!

This is before the show when we are still dry.
This is after when we are all wet.  Please notice they shark headband that Shandra and
Kim bought for me.  I wore it the rest of the day!
I missed the interaction that the divers used to have with the whales, but it was still a fabulous show.

A favorite area was the place where we could touch and feel fish.

We found some "cleaner" fish that would actual eat the dead skin off of our hands!  Talk about a stinky manicure!
The "Journey to Atlantis" ride was a hit for everyone!

The temperature at Sea World was hot, but still our day was much too short.
I can't wait to go back!
