Kalel started school this week – 4 th grade!  He is growing up too fast!  Because his mother had to work,  Kalel, Raelynn, and I had a night-before-school slumber party.  Of course after playing some games, we had to have ice cream cones before bed! I just love those two little munchkins! Kalel's teacher this year is Mrs. Broersma.  She was born in Germany.  Kalel says that he really likes her.  I'm still having trouble believing that he is old enough to be in 4th grade.  I remember a very long time ago when I was in 4th grade - I thought I was so grown up!  And now Kalel is there. Shandra posted the following on her FaceBook page: This little monster told me he got kissed last year at school by his girlfriend. I said that's not okay! He said " look at me! Who could blame them " ..... I'm in trouble!!!!!! The next day she posted: "Don't worry, my 9 year old baby boy just told me ..in the first week of school .. a gi...

Breakfast – What was your day like today? I am enjoying a very relaxing and absolutely wonderful day in our timeshare condo in St. George.  The condo is beautiful, the company (Jody, Mickel, and Kristiann Woodland) is fabulous, and I am looking forward to seeing Peter Pan at Tuachan tonight.  I did attend a condo owner education meeting this morning which is always educational, profitable (I received a gift card), as well as stressful because they always make it so appealing and tempting to invest in more vacation cred...

This week marks the end of the semester for most of the classes at Eagle Gate - I do have one class that will finish up next week.  It is always bittersweet to have the semester end.  At the beginning it seems like the semester stretches out forever with endless lessons to prepare, assignments to grade, and tests to write (not to mention students to get to know).  But it really doesn't last that long when looking back.  As I look back I worry that I taught the students everything that they need to know and in a way that they can progress on in their education.  I am sad because the class has become comfortable and now face starting over again.  However, I am excited to start over and get to know a new set of students. This next semester I will be taking on a new class and along with that a new set of challenges.  I am going to be team-teaching the Med-Surg class along with all of their labs.  Fortunately I will be teaching with a fantastic, expe...

What do you want to eat?  I hate that question because I really don’t like to eat many things.  Yes, I eat a LOT!  But not a huge variety.  I have been told by many people that I am the world’s pickiest eater, and I’m pretty sure that they are right.  So, when people ask me what I want to eat, I am fairly certain that they won’t like my answer. Lunch ~  If you could change one thing about yourself what would it be? How can I decide only one thing?  If I had to choose just one it would probably be to...

The 2016 Olympics started this week.   I love the Olympics.   It may because it is because I feel a sense of patriotism in joining with the rest of the nation in cheering on the USA team.   I’m in such awe of athletes who work so hard to earn the honor of receiving an Olympic medal.   I’m also so impressed with the athletes that give everything they have just for the honor of competing when they know that they have little to no chance of winning.   I love hearing the stories of the athletes, where they come from as well as the struggles they have faced.   The funny thing is that any other time I am not at all interested in the sports or of the athletes.   It must have something to do with the whole Olympic hype.   Whatever the reason, I find myself glued to the television and computer during the Olympics.   My favorite events in the summer Olympics are volleyball, both indoor as well as beach, gymnastics, and diving.   I al...

I had a very interesting and quite spiritual experience this week.  A good friend of mine has had a very difficult decision to make.  She had two choices, both were good choices and either would lead her to a good, happy life, although each path would be quite different from each other thus the destinations would end up totally different.  She had been worrying and stressing over these decisions for weeks.  She has been so stressed that she has not been able to sleep, her stomach has been in constant knots. My friend is a very spiritual person.  She is not of my faith and she does not feel the need for organized religion, but she prays frequently and feels that she has a good relationship with God and Jesus Christ.  She and her husband have been praying fervently for help in making the decision that would be best for her and her family.  When she and I were talking I asked her what she was specifically praying for, I wondered if she was just asking G...
